ふと思い立って自分のMTブログを iPhone レイアウトに最適化してみました。
ちょー便利な「iPhoneテンプレートfor MT」を利用させていただきます。

同梱のreadme.txt内の解説が丁寧すぎるので迷うことは全くありません。
ものすごく簡単なので、ものの10分ちょいで構築できてしまいます。
すばらしい！！crema さん、本当にありがとうございます。

こんな感じで無事に構築することができました。

せっかくなので、MTでPC用とiPhone用のページを同アドレスする設定もしておきます。
.htaccessでiPhoneからのアクセスを転送する設定ですが、
今回はこちらの記事を参考にさせていただきました。
MTをiPhoneに最適化しました - HUBLOG

iPhoneからブログにアクセスがあった場合に自動的にiPhone用のページへ転送するよう、.htaccessに次のとおり記述を追加しました。

RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{HTTP_USER_AGENT} iPod [OR] RewriteCond %{HTTP_USER_AGENT} iPhone [OR] RewriteCond %{HTTP_USER_AGENT} UP.Browser RewriteRule ^$ /i/index.html [R]

最後の行の/i/index.htmlは、転送先のURLになりますのでご自分の環境に置き換えてください。readmeの手順どおりの場合はこのままで大丈夫かと思います。

iPhone実機で正常な動作を確認済みです。

これは良記事。いろいろと参考にしたい点があるので自分用にメモしておく。

最初に2人が指摘したのは「人々が求めるものを作る」。逆に言えば「人々が求めるかどうか分からないものを作るほど大きなリスクはない」。前者の例として挙げたのがNetscape Communicator。後者の例はセグウェイだ。技術的に注目されても、市場にフィットしなければ成功しない。

アイディアを考え議論するだけならコストは大してかからない。しかしプロトタイプを作るとコストが負担になる。製品ローンチに至ってはスタートアップの命運を賭けたイベントだ。だから資金に余裕のないスタートアップは、資金を使う前、つまりアイディアを練る段階で自分たちが考える製品/サービスが人々に求められるかを十分に検討・リサーチする必要がある。

やっぱり考えないといけないことは、「人々が求めるものを作る」ということ。
そして、アイデアは十分に練り、かつ、妥協は絶対にダメだ。
ここは本当に大切なポイント。

作らずに検討・リサーチするには、まず人に話してみる。これならコストはゼロだ。しかし会話を通じて得られる反応には少なからずノイズが混じるという。そこで市場にも問いかけてみる。例えばAdWordsを使ってネットユーザーの反応を見る。フェイクの商品紹介ページなどを作って統計を取るというのも方法の1つだ。

Houston氏がDropboxの成功を確信したのは、リサーチ期間に作った3分間の説明動画をコミュニティ型のニュースサービス「Hacker News」に投稿したとき。数時間で議論が広がり、ランキングの上位に食い込むほど話題になった。

こんな方法があったのかと、ちょっと目から鱗。

スタートアップはニッチから攻めるのが定石

ベータプログラムから製品ローンチにかけては、まず自分の製品に合った"小さな市場"に製品/サービスを提供する。どんなに優れた製品/サービスでも、利用体験を共有できる存在がいなければ、ユーザーは利用し続けてくれない。Facebookはハーバード大学の学生用SNSで始まり、レストラン/ショップ検索のYelpはサンフランシスコ限定でスタートした。Twitterは2007年に、音楽/映画/ネットの巨大イベントSouth by South West(SXSW)で参加者が会場内で情報交換するサービスとして使われて注目され始めた。

逆に失敗例として挙げられたのがGoogleのWave。技術的には面白いが、ベータプログラム開始時の規模・範囲が不適切で、利用できるようになっても実際に機能を試せる相手が少ないことから利用者の輪が広がるペースが鈍く、基盤となるアーリーアダプタを築けていないとHouston氏は指摘した。

スタートアップにクチコミ戦略は欠かせない。関心を持ってくれた人が友だちに紹介しやすいようにSNSやTwitterへのリンクを用意する。クチコミが広がる工夫も必要で、例えば招待に数や期間の制限を設けるなど、提供に限りがあるような危機感をクチコミの中に混ぜ込むべきだとSmith氏。ボーナスギフト付きの紹介プログラムも効果がある。Dropboxは紹介者に250MBの追加ストレージを提供するプログラムを用意しているが、同プログラムの開始で登録ペースが60%増加したという。

最初にユーザのターゲット層をはっきりとさせておく。
サービス投入もタイミングや範囲の狙いをしっかりと定める。
そして、ユーザ間でコミュニティが生まれるような仕組みも大切。

アーリーアダプタからメインストリームのユーザーへと製品/サービスを広げる際には「分かりやすさ」をとことん追求する。「10%簡単になれば、50%ユーザーが拡大する」とHouston氏。エンジニアは自分が盛り込んだ機能をすべてを書き尽くしたくなる。だが、Dropboxではロゴと大きなダウンロードボタン、そして「オンライン経由で、複数のコンピュータ間でファイルを同期」という説明だけのWebページでもっとも効果が見られた。
